WREN: Then this is particularly hard because Mona’s right in front of you. In clinical terms we call it ‘ambiguous loss’.
HANNA: What?
WREN: There’s been a death but it doesn’t involve a body. Like when.. a soldier goes missing or a relative slips into dementia. They’re gone but yet still here.
AU Wren & Hanna → After a long time without seeing each other, Hanna and Wren meet again. Later that day, Wren decides to call her and ask her to go out on a date with him, and she says yes but Wren is not convinced that Hanna likes him and wants to go. Days after this, the date takes place, and it’s totally succesful.

The moment she’d laid eyes on Wren — her sister had brought him to meet their parents at a family dinner — something had happened to her. It was like… like he’d put a hex on her the second he sat down at Moshulu, took a sip of red wine, and met her eyes. He was British, exotic, witty, and smart, and liked the same indie bands Spencer did. He was just so wrong for her milquetoast, prim-and-perfect sister Melissa. But he was so right for Spencer. She knew it… and apparently he did too.
